blue sky, lichen yellow

We had a family walk in the winter sun-shine this morning, the dog sniffed and sprinted around happily and the kids had fun despite their usual protests.  And I found some bright yellow and pale green lichen to photo against the bright blue sky.  It almost looks unreal it is so blue, but this was it.

 posing amongst the dead lupins
Also had a good weekend, I went to Hot Yoga and sweated a lot.  I went dress shopping with a couple of girl-friends, which was fun. I wasn't shopping for me but I did end up buying something.  Tut tut.  And I went running and looked at a really nice house that I want but can't afford.

New Wallpaper book and some new small stash

Me and the girls have been walking on another hill today in the sunshine, sitting on logs and collecting sheeps wool off fences, mainly for leaving around the house in untidy lumps.  A bit of sewing, bath, dinner and bed.

A little pile of small pieces of fabric we collected at the garage sale on Sunday.  Mostly offcuts and left-overs so good for dolly clothes and patchwork and small things.

I also bought this book which has lots of cool wallpaper and some weird and wacky wallpaper and some pretty stuff too.

above, interesting deer on the shirt.
These were in big scale, wall height, would be very dramatic but a bit nerve racking in the bathroom.
I love the pattern idea on these by Johanna Basford who I blogged about yesterday.

This is so beautiful and dreamy and summery.  My photos never turn out like this!

I'm not sure where I would put this, nowhere in my house is cool enough for, neither am I mind you.
I have not taken a very good  picture which is a shame as the paper was very pretty old style.
This was so sweet, I love the coloured flowers which look a bit like stick-ons
 beautiful and probably v. exspensive.
Would brighten up your room, this would go anywhere in my house, might disguise the bumpy walls too.

In the woods today.

It was a beautiful frosty sunny morning this morning, so we ate our porridge and had a little tidy up and then the children were dragged out the house and taken for a short steep walk up a hill and through some trees to see a beautiful view of the snowy mountains. I don't have a picture of the snowy mountains 'cause they weren't very good.  I blame it on the camera lens myself.

I love this part of the walk, especially really early in the morning with the light shining through the trees
the girls prefer not to use the windy path and to scramble up the scrambly slopes.

I thought the colour of the bark was so pretty, and the negative shapes in blues and bright greens.

and then I had to try and take photos of the girls while they climbed the tree and hid behind the branches
These photos made me think of Little Red Riding Hood with my little one in her red coat running along the forest path.
And later today there has been rock climbing and some rather groovy mini dolls house furniture being made ( not by me)
