house for sale

I have been very neglectful of this blog, and in my defense, we have been getting our house ready to go on the market.  It is now as ready as it will ever be and is looking rather lovely I think and we are wondering why we want to move, especially as it is now coming into summer and the weather is putting on a great show.  Here are some photos.
(edit). house is sold after one week on the market, we will be homeless in 5 weeks time. on to adventures new.

gorgeous kitchens

Our kitchen needs re-doing, probably moving to another room in the house, cause the flow ain't right.  We can't afford that but I have done some kitchen day-dreaming anyway, mainly at this fab blog Pretty Kitchens .  Loads of inspiration and different styles to choose from.  And I don't have links for these next four photos, any one know?

Loving the lime green splash-back. mark bolton photography

If my house could fit a kitchen in this big I wouldn't really care what it looked like, futuristic, light and simple pimple.
this is so sweet, my husband would not understand/hate it.  Those tiles look a bit hard though, smash the dropped things to smithereens.
The plywood house/kitchen thing has been around for a while, this mixed with colour cup-boards and the light-shades ( I want some) is rather cool I do think.
 turqouise work top!
beautiful old falling-down mansion style kitchen, admiring the floorboards and that spiral staircase.  Where's my ball gown?
wasn't sure if this was a dressing room or a kitchen, it is sooo yellow but I like it.
Great eclectic style and splashes of bright colour
I liked the banquette on the right side and all that lovely natural light and the fact that it is enormous.
I love the wallpaper in this one and the check flooring and the table and chairs, I love it all!

vintage wallpaper

Just been nosying around some houses on the market in our town.  one house we went to was full of potential, needed lots of work but could have been really cool.  But the best thing about it was the wallpaper in one of the bedrooms.  I was smitten by it.  Must have been put up with the house (1930's).  We went along because the photos of the house made it look like a serial killer house.  The garage was satisfyingly reminiscent of the film "Misery" and  "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". but we liked it.

and the carpet was sweet too.

beds and bedrooms I would like

So gorgeous and it looks nice and sturdy too!
Makes me think of convents, it's quite austere, but I wouldn't say no to it.
 This has curly-wurly over-the-top-ness which I like.
The mirrors, the fire, the soft bed and the fairy frock all add up well.
This room is about the size of my house.  And the headboard is sublime.
Beautiful and colourful turquoise headboard.  And the feather wall decoration is gorgeous.
Not sure if I would like to sleep in here or not, but the over-all effect is so pretty.
The rest of this fairytale castle at desire to inspire makes me want to cry.  It is just so amazing, I would have to have a cleaner and a chef if I lived here though, I would be too busy sipping champagne in beautiful dresses to do much else.

pink

For my birthday I got some pink pretty things.  I am actually a grown-up, but I do also like these things.  I have worn the swallow hair grips quite a bit, and the pink rose earrings, but I haven't got around to making any heart-shaped cakes yet.
And a few photos of more pretty pink things.

I want these pink glittery shoes so much.

Beautiful woodstacks

I do love a beautiful woodstack, I am always in awe of an interiors showing a fireplace with a beautifully built stack, and imagine how nice it would be to have all that nice dry wood  chopped and ready to stick on the fire.  We don't have enough room in our house for this, one winter I did manage to squeeze in a small one, it was great but I did use so much more wood, 'cause it was so easy (no trudging down to the garage to chop once a day) but a beautiful stack in the garden would do, just have to find the right place.  I haven't quite mastered the asthetics of stacking  but have the potential to be quite fussy about the whole thing.  Here are some pictures of woodstacks, and rooms, to envy/admire/dream of.

This is not fire wood, but I thought as an idea it would be really cool to make the woodstack in furniture, or gaps in furniture.
